Thailand “Kampong” Trip 1

The long waited trip to the Thailand “Kampong” temple after a year planning and discussing with the Thai Master (Laung Phee) finally come through.

It was in the early October 2009 and I was accompanied by my eldest sister for this meaningful trip to Thailand.

We arrived in Bangkok International Airport early in the morning about 7.30am (In Bangkok Time) and took a bus from the Airport to the economic Hotel recommended by the Laung Phee.

When we were in the hotel, I make a phone called to Laung Phee informing him that we have already Check-In the Hotel. He told me, he will bring us to the temple (wat Selan Makkak) where my offering of Wednesday Morning Buddha Statue was, which need the temple Master to do chanting for the Buddha Statue before offer it to the “Kampong” temple. He also informed me that he will come to fetch us to the temples in the afternoon.

It was almost noon time my sister and I were eating our lunch when we met another Laung Phee’s follower (Jeremy) in the restaurant and he told us that he was also offering the Wednesday Morning Buddha Statue same as me in this trip.

During our chit-chatting, Laung Phee called me over the phone saying that he was taking a Taxi on his way to the Hotel. When he arrived, we hop-into the taxi and he brought us to a port to take a boat across to a temple (Wat La Kang) in the opposite.

Laung Phee told us to pray to the Buddha in the temple, he say that since today is my birthday, he ask me to release 49 fishes and 3 birds together with my sister and Jeremy. There are some Thai aunties selling fishes and birds, Laung Phee help us to purchase them and bring us to the edge of the port, recite a piece paper written in Thai language given by the aunty then follow by Chanting before releasing the fishes and birds.

After releasing the fishes and birds, we took the boat back to the port, and then take a Taxi to the Wat Selan Makkak temple where our offering of Buddha statue was.

When arriving at the temple, Laung Phee led us to our Buddha statues then asked my sister and Jeremy to let the Temple Master (Laung Phor) to perform a “showering” for them. The words “Showering” here mean to wash away all the Bad Luck in our body. After the “Showering”, our Master called Jeremy and I kneel in front of the Wednesday Morning Buddha statue and start praying and chanting for us.

Before leaving the Wat Selan Makkak Temple, he also asked us to buy some torchlight and medication to bring to the “Kampong” Temple. He said that in the “Kampong” temple, the monks do praying and chanting in the jungle in the early morning around 4 to 5 o’clock, where it was very dark. During the process, some monks fell or trip in the jungle because it was too dark. Therefore, by donating the torchlight, it could brighten the path where they are walking and could help them to avoid falling and tripping. It also symbolise that it will also brighten up our daily life, living and working path too.

image Laung Phee then help us to halt a taxi and informed the driver to send us to “Big M” shopping mall.

After purchasing the torchlight and medication, we ended our first day of the trip in Bangkok.

In the following blog, I would share my 2nd day of trip with you.

Planning for Thailand “Kampong” Trip

I M Sharing

As mentioned in my previous blog, I will be sharing with you the events during my Thailand “Kampong” Temple trip.

Let me bring you back to almost end of the year 2008 when I visited my Thai Master in the temple (in Singapore) to ask him to do fortune-telling for my coming year 2009.

After giving me some highlight of the events for year 2009, he then invited me to join him for a Thailand “Kampong” Temple trip. He informed me that he had been doing this for the last ten years and he also advised me to donate a statue of my birth Buddha.

He then continued to explain the reason behind the donation. He told me that this will help me to stabilize my “LUCK”.

He said that some people “LUCK” can stay “High” for quite a long period of time and some don’t, because it all fall back to our present and past “Karma” that we have practiced.

He told me what he saw in my fortune predication; my “LUCK” was not stabilizing at all.

The Thai Master not only wanting me to donate the Buddha statue, he also hoped that I could arrange my work schedule to go with him on the trip in October 2009.

He wanted me to donate the Buddha statue personally and he also wanted me to do some charity to the “Kampong” temple where some of the temples are partially completed only.

He really hoped that my life can start to change after the trip to the temple in October 2009.

In my next post, I will share with all of you the day by day events in the Thailand “Kampong” Temple Trip.

Belief

Belief….. Everyone lives in his/her own actions (Karma). And these actions (Karma) have inheritance that have influence in our life, be it current or next life. We are the gardener of our Karma. What happen to us today might not be the cause of the past Karma but our decisions and actions today are going to have the karmic effects on us.

Like many people, I have allowed the basic “Law of Karma” to sink deep down into the back of my mind. Many people I have spoken to share the same sentiments. Times spend making a living, and making ends tie for the family have taken our full attention that we have forgotten to practise good Karma.

Not until I met this Thai master. He has “awaken” and reminds me my belief.

I learnt from him to be Selfish-less. Yes…that’s right….All good things must share with many people and allow more people to participate and involve.

That’s the motivation behind the creation of this blog. I hope we could use this blog as a platform to learn and share.

Alright let get our first sharing going……

2 years ago, I have come to know a Thailand Master in Singapore through my brother.

From this Thai Master, he reminded me my Secondary School days where we had our “Buddhist Studies”. The first time we were being introduced to Karma. And through my conversation with the master, he has been emphasizing and reinforcing on the teaching of Karma.

He explained to me, why “Karma” is important in our life.

He told me that there are good and bad “Karma”, it all depends on your past and the present practices /actions.

He told me one should not compare themselves with others. And we should spend more time practicing and cultivating for own good Karma.

The next time, I would like to share with you my trip to Thailand “Kampong” temple with the Thai Master during last October.
